The secretariat of the Geneva Health Forum and the Global Access to Health Platform are both hosted by the Division of International and Humanitarian Medicine of the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG), Switzerland.
The Division of International and Humanitarian Medicine (DIHM) was created as a result of two decades of engagement by the University Hospitals of Geneva in international cooperation. The DIHM, in addition to being the main centre in Geneva, Switzerland, for travel medicine, tropical medicine, and medical parsitology, has an active global health sector responsible for international cooperation projects, training, and consultancy.

As the initiator and organizer of the Geneva Forum: Towards Global Access to Health (Geneva Health Forum) and the Global Access to Health Platform, the DIHM actively works to facilitate reflexion, exchange and debate on issues related to global access to health. While the Geneva Health Forum, an international conference held every two years, brings together in Geneva, Switzerland, key actors in the field, the online Global Access to Health Platform serves as an ongoing (net)working space for sharing and building upon expertise and experience. Both the platform and the conference have the common aim of keeping global access to health on the international agenda.
